Bowleven is an Africa focused oil and gas group, based in Edinburgh and traded on AIM. It holds significant equity interests in onshore and offshore exploration acreage in Cameroon and onshore acreage in Kenya.

Bowleven holds a 75% equity interest in the Etinde Permit, offshore Cameroon. The acreage (approx. 2,316km²) is located across the Rio del Rey and Douala basins and has both contingent resources and very attractive exploration potential. Bowleven also holds a 100% equity interest in the Bomono Permit, onshore Cameroon, covering approx 2,328km² in the Douala Basin.  Both permits are operated by Bowleven through its wholly owned subsidiary EurOil Limited.

In September 2012 Bowleven entered into a farm-in agreement to acquire a 50% equity interest in exploration block 11B, onshore Kenya. The block, covering approx. 14,000km² is to the north of the Lokichar Basin where a significant oil discovery (Ngamia-1 well) has been made.
